General :- The following rules apply to all Moray Camera Club competitions for year 2008/09 unless otherwise stated in specific competition rules.
No Image (complete, in part or digitally manipulated) may be entered more than once in the same competition.
All entries must be submitted by the close of the Club Meeting on the Submission Date stated in the Club Programme.
Competition entries will be sent to the Judge immediately after the Submission Date.
All competition entries must be the author’s own work, must be selected by the author and submitted by the author to the Competition Secretary.
Details of all Competition Titles and Dates are shown in the Club Programme.
The criteria for prints are shown under the various competitions. All prints must have the Author’s Name, Membership Number and the Title of the print on the back.
Slides must be mounted, preferably in glass mounts. Mounts must be spotted and titled as per the attached diagram. Slides must be delivered in a slide-box or envelope showing the Author’s Name, Membership Number and the Titles of each slide on the front.
Each judge will be advised of the Competition Rules and asked to make constructive comments.
All entries will be awarded points up to a maximum of 20 per entry.
Judges will select a 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each competition/category, with the exception of the Urquhart Trophy and the George Esson Trophy.
Unless otherwise requested by a Member, all slides and prints entered in any Club Competition may be displayed on the Club Website.
The George Esson Trophy for Photographer of The Year will be awarded to the Member who has scored the highest number of points across all Club Competitions in the Club Year. Points will be calculated as follows :- 1st Place = 3 points, 2nd Place = 2 points, 3rd Place = 1 point. In the event of a tie at any position, all entrants will receive the same award of points. In the Small Print and Slide league competitions only the final league positions will be used in the calculation.
